Cinque Terre

Below are pictures from our trip to Cinque Terre:

But first.... homemade Christmas dinner with some pretty awesomely fresh ingredients. Oh, and amazing wine, thank you Courtney of course for the pointers!

After Rome, we went North to Cinque Terre. That place is as beautiful as the pictures. The nice thing going in low season was avoiding tourists too! Hardly anyone there. Looked like a story book.

We took a day trip via train to Porto Venere per a recommendation from the nice old man we rented our apartment from.
It was stunning. Perched right on the Mediterranean Sea, it's home to a mid-evil  castle, and church on a bluff.

The old street that leads in between the buildings towards the castle

It was a blustery day for sure.

You hike up a bit, and this is the view you end up with. Every where you turned your head you had a great pic.
This is the furthest town of the 5 that make up "Cinque Terre." We made a plan to see them all, and I thought the water
was very nice at this beach.

Pasta lunch

Time to head to Switzerland!
