October Break

With 2 months into the school year we get to have our week long October Break.  This year it was extra special because my parent's came to visit for 2 weeks!  So the week Ryan and I were working before break, they were off downtown Bangkok with many places to go and things to see while we worked.  I was able to take a day off work to explore the Jim Thompson Silk Museum with them.

The week was also our International Food Fair which is always a special treat of food from around Thailand and the world, all cooked by the families.

Ryan and I had the second week off, so we all headed up North to Chiang Mai.  We spent our time eating great food, cooking our own Thai food, drinking amazing local coffee, exploring market after market, as well as riding on Song Tao's and Tuk Tuk's.   Below are some highlights.

Next was some island time and we headed to one we haven't been to.  We headed to Koh Lanta, which is in Southern Thailand and takes a little effort to get to....but totally worth it.  After a 1 hour plane ride to Krabi, and 2.5 hour car ride which included two car ferries, we got to our villa.
During our 4 nights stay we celebrated my birthday, took a long tail to an island to snorkel and fish along the way, had massages, had monkey's steal our snacks from our house and took some long scenic motorbike rides.
