Malaysia

We went through Malaysia on our way down to Bali, Indonesia and explored for 2 days. Interesting contrasting Kuala Lumpur with Bangkok, both very different Asian mega-cities. Malaysia felt so much more "in order" than Bangkok. The streets were uncrowded, clean, lots of greenery. The people where friendly, but not like Thais. We went to the top of the 5th tallest building in the world, and got some great panoramic shots.

We went to "Little India" and had some great food nearby street markets.

We took the train up to Batu Caves which is a popular Hindu shrine that is built in a 400 million year old limestone cave.

A fish pond outside the caves.

The largest statue of Murugan (a Hindu deity) on earth.

There was a celebration going on when we went. Loud bells were ringing, and people were dressed in traditional clothing. Here is a video of it.

Detailed carvings.

277 steps to the top!

Gorgeous day in KL.
